1st Hummingbirds since the Crape Myrtle was taken out. Didn't see any at the feeders, just the flowers. Supposedly, they prefer blossoms in the hot colours range but the one most visited was the Purple flowered Salvia 'Amastad'. Must be a great nectar producer;>....

The ones around here seem to like those pink Jupiter's staff thingies. But they also love it when I run a sprinkler.

What was the problem with the crepe myrtle? (They always look as if they're dead for a few weeks anyway, it seems.)

Nothing. Chris had an extra Japanese Maple and asked if we wanted it and I told him we didn't have the space so;>.....
Never really liked it though. Sort of a brick red colour. If it had been White or even hot pink I might have said no. I really do like the look now though I do miss how cool the shade made the courtyard though. Just put the old HUGE picnic table on the curb and moved the Bistro table from the Meditation Garden to take it's place. Now there's just a chair in the back yard perfect for sitting an Meditating. The front now has soooo much more space!
