Season Changes....
Sep. 8th, 2019 09:24 amare beginning to show even here in "The Dangly Bits". Annuals are petering out and the Persimmons are starting to show some colour. Nights are still warm but at least not hot. I'm beginning to see more Hummingbirds and Butterflies, esp on the Salvias and Cypress vines.
I've pretty much decided what is going to be kept and what's getting tossed. One of the Plumerias is going. Grown from a seed from Thailand, it was supposted to be Purple and is a common Yellow throated White. It's pretty and has a nice Citrus scent but it's too big as well as being to common. I've already got rid of one of the Brugmansias and the White blossomed Turk's Cap. One for not blooming and the other for not blooming enough and always looking ratty. I'm also tossing an Elephant ear("White Lava") for having an ugly growth habit...no matter how pretty the leaves are.
I've 2 new subtropicals to test; "Witches Hat" and "Cuban Jasmine". The "WH" might bloom this Fall and Winter but more likely next yr. The 'CJ" should be big enough next Spring to do so...
Cheers,
Pat
