Feb Update!
Feb. 6th, 2021 01:57 pmI figured I better start monthly updates since Life keeps getting so Interesting!
Moving: Almost done with our unit and demo finished on my Brother and his wife's. Since it took from ept to get this far, I'm HOPING by our 23rd anniversary(4/1;>) but I'm not holding my breath.
Chuck: Continues to slowly fail. Sleeps off-n-on pretty much 1:1 at 2 hr intervals. Poor appetite, basically crackers and Ensure. Hoping last Wednesday's appt with his MD got through to him that I KNOW he's not going to get better and all I want is him to be as comfortable as possible however so long he lives.
Me: Stressed(DUH!!!!;>) but doing ok Emotionally. All those decades of almost discorporating myself has got me pretty OK with the idea of Death....mine or others. It's just how miserable he often is that gets me. He's more uncomfortable than in Pain but he's never had much in the way of Pain Tolerance, which doesn't help. Also, he'd been healthy as a horse for the 1st 6 decades so he never had much experience with it. Weirdly, other than some weight gain my health hasn't been this good on paper since the early 80's with the exception of the Diabetes, which is actually better than this time last yr. I'm down 90 units daily from then.
Still in limbo....
Cheers,
Pat

Date: 2021-02-07 03:35 pm (UTC)He experienced something that pretty much EVERYONE over 50 has at one time or another; a little accidental voiding. What happened next for the next 2 and a half hrs was a battle between two of his personalities; the "it's all right, I don't want to be a bother" and "OCD cleaning lady". I finally removed is long dry pajama bottom, went over his r thigh with a wipe and put on another. The rest of the night was, well, restful;>.
I've got to stop thinking of him as my Partner when these things happen and just treat him as my patient...no matter how cranky or how long he'll "pout" aLove,
