A couple months back my MD started me on a new Diabetes pill that knocked 80 units of Insulin off my daily does. It's worked to well that she decided to increase the med a bit and knocked back another 20 so I'm down to 60 a day. Now, it's not that solid. If I fek up my diet the next AM's stick will be over the level we're trying to keep(100 at highest 80 at lowest). But less Insulin is best for a number of reasons.
Another plus is that I've been averaging a pound a week loss after starting somethin I heard on a talk on Youtube. It was some Talking head who decided to see what changed in American eating habits from pre Obesity/Diabetes Epidemic and in. The rates wet up starting in the 70's. The diet didn't. What happened was that Americans went from 3 meals a day(generally) only to snacking between. When watching it I remembered that our mom's NEVER let us snack. In fact, we'd be told that "You'll ruin your appetite". I remember in the early 80's some of my friends that had kids and being a bit shocked at "Snack Time". So, just as an experiment, I went back to this pattern. No change in food, just nothing between meals. Like I said, a pound a week for more than a month. This has also helped with my Blood Sugars. They're much more steady since I started this. I do get hungry, but it's kind of funny. I'd forgotten what being REALLY hungry felt like. Interestingly, it's easier to fight than the fake mental hungry that i had before....
Cheers,
Pat
