Happy Place....
Jun. 27th, 2010 02:29 pmI think most of us have a flick that no matter how many times we watch, it cheers us up. In fact, we may even use it for such. I've had the same one for decades, 'Little Shop of Horrors' the Martin/Moranis version(not the Nicholson one;>). This Over-The-Top Musical Horror Comedy always makes me smile. And every time I do, I'm stunned at how good it is.
Take the 1st song(after the title;>), 'Downtown'. I know of no song that tells it so well what it's like to be Urban Working Poor. And the Singers?! To find such ordinary people with such incredible voices?!
My 2nd fav song is an omage to Eisenhower/Kennedy Dream of Suburbia, 'Somewhere Where It's Green'. What can you say about a song with lyrics like "I Cook like Betty Crocker and I Look like Donna Reed...";>.
What's your Cheer-up flick?
Cheers,
Pat
