mdehnersEvery so often I'm reminded how Alien "The Dangly Bits" are to every other place I've lived in my life. The easiest window is that of local culture...the TV.
You know all the Christian shows on Sunday on your TV? That's how many we have on the weekdays. Sundays, well you don't bother turning it on while there's sunlight;>. They are "ecumenical" allowing "The Whore of Babalon"(Catholic)a single show a couple times a week.
Then there are the Sports shows. NASCAR, Monster Trucks, Mudding, and the Hunting and Fishing shows. I smile at the possible reactions of some of my "Progressive" friends of the kid Hunting and Fishing shows. Some of them might loose it at the sight of a 6 yo girl "dressing" the rabbit she shot herself with her pink "Huntress Barbie" rifle.
Then there are the "science" shows where the King James version of the Bible is Proved. Some get reeeeaaallly wierd where they Prove that King James English has to be Pre-Existant since it is True. That the language Pre-Existed the English, England, even the Angles and Saxons.
