Politics....
Aug. 20th, 2010 07:42 amOne of the MANY things I dislike about Florida is that it doesn't have Open Primaries. That means to vote, you have to join a party and then only vote for your own "team". So here, I'm a Dem. There's a BIG difference between Republicans in, let's say San Francisco or Seattle and those here in "The Dangly Bits". Chosing between Republicans here for a Gay man is like being a Jew and chosing between the GEstapo and the SS....either one who wins, you LOSE.
I did have a bit of Hope when the Dems had a Majority and a President that talked a good talk. Unfotrunately...thry're DEMS. 1st thing they all did was begin a boosting of the "Lowered Self Esteem" of the Republican Party so they'd feel "Included"....pretty much making sure no real change would come and allow real change to be Aborted. Then came Reid and Dean.
As anyone who reads me knows, I consider Islam even more Toxic than Christianity. That said, I Beleive in our Constitution. Watching these two fuktards suk up to the Bigots on the cultural center a couple blocks from Ground Zero(with high Rises between so even when the new tower's built you won't be able to see the old Burlington Coat Factory)made me so sick that I've decided that voting in a Primary isn't worth being a Dem. So next Tuesday will be my last vote as a Dem. I'll probably sign as Unaffiliated since there actually is an Independant Party here(which is almost as much an oximoron as The Anarchist Union...). Thing is, in non-Primaries,you can vote for whoever you wish, no matter what your Party. A small loss to retain some sense of Self Respect....
