This Docudrauma from Britain about Climate change is one of the most gut-wrenching I've seen. Set in 2055, the WOrst-Case Senario happened. The world's gov'ts together, for the 1st time have worked together to build the Archive, which stores all the best of the world's Art, Literature, Science and Biology "for those that come later". Present scenes of flooded and abandoned coastal cities and dust/sand buried inland ones(nicely done animation of vultures fighting over the last tidbits in skeletons in India...). The Archevist is recording the intro to "those that come after"(there's a tone that you get that "those" aren't Human because we'll be Extinct)and including Video of how it happened....
The saddest bits is that of windfarms in England being stopped by folks who call themselves Environmentalists and say that Climate Change is important but appearantly not enough to have their views obstructed by Windmills. As the builder puts it, "how can we tell others to do what we aren't willing to do ourselves?".
Another is the oldest Swiss Mountaineer still working telling tourists what the area he works in was like when he started. On his 1st day he could walk off the road onto the glacier. Today, you have to climb down the equivalent of 10 stories to get to the present surface. With this sort of local evidence, it's not surprising why Europeans have a different view of the crisis than Americans...
