mdehnersIt's been a while since I wrote anything here. The Election certainly was a Reason(though the "Buyer's Remorse" I'm hearing from family and friends as all these "Interesting" Directives come out is helping a bit< G >...), as well as Health(my aids meds began failing this Spring and it's taken this long to get the new meds covered so I can take them. It's only been 3 days so we won't even Know for another 4 weeks if they're doing anything...). We're not good at "moping" around so we've kept buzy, prepping the yard for Winter, taking cuttings of Tender plants, planting out the Test Gardens for this yr(I help with a couple of Hardiness projects for folks at The Smithsonian and a couple other orgs..)and getting Irritated that Chuck keeps "Forgetting" to clean up after the dog< G >!
I sent a number of hybrids off to the Gesneriad Hybridizers Association, mostly Scented Florist Gloxinias, though there's a couple minis in there as well. All the Violets Failed except for a species that is missing from the AGGS(American Gloxina and Gesneriad Society) Gene Bank. Now, if I can just keep the birds, dog and my "fumble-fingers" from "aborting" the damned pods< G >!
I've been very Distressed at the Acceptance of Dishonorable Behavior on a list I'm on. I don't have a Problem with folks posting stuff from other lists(if they ask the Original Poster...), I DO with posting part of a Private Exchange. Maybe if Illegal Activity was being discussed, I could Understand but to basically "Tattle" on another list member because he used the "F-word" to you too Childish a REason to Break the Trust on a list. The fact that many seemed to be of the Opinion that since it's in a computer it's Public Domain and can be "Shared" was a Shock, esp when some of those saying such had always been big Privacy Advocates. Perhaps because the "Tattle-ee" was not as Popular as the "Tattler", it wasn't considered a "Breach" of Lisat-Trust. As Far as I am concerned, it was and now there is a Person who, while I've Disagreed with many times Respected very much, I can not Trust. Not that I'd any Plans to Share any Deep Secrets with the Person but certainly now I would not do so...
I heard today that the Ealdriht is gone. It's too bad. Now there's nothing available as the equivalent of Asatru Alliance anymore for AS Heathens. Of course, it didn't start out as such so I can understand the Wodenings Discomfort at finding their "Child" growing in directions they never intended< G >. It's to Become a form of Mercian Heathenry. I wish them well...even the "Irritating" Wodening< G >!
