Elvis has left the building....
Feb. 10th, 2005 03:25 pmIt's been an "Interesting" week. My folks deigned to tell us that they needed us to drive them to the airport the Saturday of our local Pagan campout, so needless to say...a weekend in the Woods is now an "overnighter". They, as usual "Forgot" about our camping trip, even though we've been doing it for two yrs now. We Resigned from my position on the board becasue I couldn't be there...not a big problem since 1/2 the time folks never gave me the paperwork I needed and when I suggested just letting me have them on-file or store at my house for the next campout didn't trust putting the "3rd Degree Secret" material in Heathen Hands. After all, we destroyed the "Peaceful, Goddess-Worshipping Matriarchal Civilization of Europe"(tm,pat-pending)< G >....
Should be an Interesting campout though. After the reports of "Babies for Food" programs by American Protestant Denominations in the Tsunami zone I stated that I had no problem giving the monies raised to Enviromental and such but not to Christian orgs, even if they're doing "Good Work" and would not participate if it was decided to do so(I will not give my time and money to Christian orgs...they have enough of their own folks to do it...). I got the usual comments about my "mean-spiritedness" and decided to discontinue dealings with the campout org. We're still going, I'll just ignore those that think helping CHristian orgs makes them less likely to try to COnvert or Harrass us...
We've Rescued another animal, an 8 month old dog who had been tortured by his family's kids and also had been hit by a car(running away from the kids?). He's healed up physically but Mentally, he's a very Submissive and Anxious. I wasn't really Happy about getting anothe dog but after hearing his history I couldn't say no. Needless to say, Ethel our 20 yr old Dachsund and the cockatiels "are not Amused"< G >.....
