mdehnersWell, it looks like I’m finally going to get my SPAR(Society for the Protection of Artificial Religions;>) card “yanked”. I’m only subbed to one non-Heathen list and the only reason I’m doing so is to support the two CR-folk who run it. While I’m not un-subbing but because of what happened(which really wasn't different than any other "discussion"...) I’ve finally decided to treat ALL religions that can be documented to be more than 50% Fiction; Deities, Theology, etc EQUALLY. That means from now on I Tolerate Wicca and Modern Pagans/Eclectic Wiccans/etc no more AND no less than I would Scientologists, Mormons, those of the Unification Church(the Moonies), etc. No Free Passes anymore for ANYONE…
Now, if you Wish to follow an AR, go ahead. Just don’t get your “knickers in a twist” when I refuse AND refute your presentation(s) of History with those nasty old facts when you “pester” me... I realized in the discussion that AS USUAL I was both practicing “Politeness Yoga” AND giving them Passes that I’d NEVER give a Scientologist or Mormon(the two I seem to run into the most for some reason…) out of some weird concept of “community”…esp. weird since I don’t have anything more in common with them than I do the Scientologists(both blatantly not Christian). The really annoying thing was, the more Polite I was, the less they were, which is generally SOP in my experiences since the mid “80’s” with both. ..
Where does “Tolerance” ? “Freedom of Religion”? “Honesty”? “Sanity”? stand when dealing with Belief-systems so young that their Created Thought-forms don’t have Self-Consciousness?
Personally, from now on it’s Polite Disinterest. Believe what you want if you don’t care about “Consensual Reality”. Just don’t bother me with it unless you want me to give you an Informed response. Just Remember. I’ve been around a while Temporally, Geographically, Socially and Spiritually. Those “Ancient” Rites and Chants you’re using may have been written by someone I Camped with, Drank with, Dated or Slept with in the last quarter+ century;>…..
