Call me “Cassandra”< G >! If moi-self, a Retired nurse with experience filling out Insurance and Pharmacy paperwork can get “Screwed, and no flowers either”, what chance does the average Senior or Disabled Person? Since the whole Med-D “Dances with Eejits” began, I’ve done what I thought was correct. I even Accepted having two months Premiums taken from my cheque even though I only had coverage for one.(Social Security stated that since some Policies covered folks even though they hadn’t got a cheque, everyone got the same deduction, whether or not they had coverage…).
Well, I went down to get my Morphine refilled. I was even so Paranoid that I budgeted $30.00 instead of the $20.00 I was told it would cost with my Plan. Imagine my “surprise” when even my “paranoid” inclinations were off by $27.00< G >! Apparently, there’s yet another threshold before your co-pays kick in, over the others. Luckly, due to the wonderful staff at my clinic I was able to get it covered this month, and Know that for just that one of my 9 meds I’ve got to budget $57.98 a month until I spend $300.00…then I get $20.00 per med until I spend about 2 grand, then I pay full price until I spent another couple grand, then I go back to paying $20.00 a med….and I have one of the better plans available in Florida for those with Chronic Health problems...
It’ll be an “Interesting” bit of Darwinian Social Engineering. Basically, anyone on Medicare or Medicaid will be Dying off this Fall and Winter, saving a bundle and helping “Balance the Budget” without raising taxes or reining in corrupt contractors Overseas and in the States.
It won’t Help either party though. Both will have big dead chunks of supporters. I guess on the “Bright Side”, some of the most Bigoted Televangelists will have to go on Budgets when all those Churched Widows that buy their gee-gaws Pass….
