mdehnersNo matter what the eejits say, the Heat Wave is still on! I have to run the sprinklers every other day with our Sandy soil. As it is, a lot of things are Stressed out...including me;>!
One kind of amusing thing is that the Brazilian Sweet Potatoes that did so poorly last yr that I didn't even bother digging them up have come back...still as poorly;>! The Purple Sweet Potatoes have joined the Chatreuse Ornamental ones Perennialising in the yard. The Philipino Taros are doing so as well. Come an EOTWAWKI, as long as it doesn't involve a mega-tsunami, we'll have plenty of Starches and Greens(both Taro and Sweet Potato leaves are edible after Cooking).
Was a bit Pissed to see one of our local rugrats had been ripping up the Dwarf Namwa Banana. It's probably the best chance of fruiting for me this yr...or WAS. Hopefully, the damage won't put it back too far. Considering the neighborhood brat is a cop AND decon's child, the beast gets away with pretty much anything. He no longer threatens to accuse me of "Molesting" him when I catch him breaking things though. I think pointing out that it was his Dad's arse that was in danger from me, not his freaked him out a bit.....
