Election Info....

mdehnersOne of the things I miss about the Bay Area was how easy it was to find out a Politician's positions on issues. Here in "The Dangly Bits Below the Bible Belt", trying to find something beyond Party affiliation is like pulling teeth...and sometimes even THAT isn't available!
If they're "high enough on the Food Chain", you'll at least have their commercials. One's with "lil fishies" can pretty much guarantee their positions on a number of issues. Also, "buzzwords" like "Family", "School Choice", "Traditional Values","All Theories" etc. Even with this, that still leaves a shitload of "Mystery".
Positions that, I Believe that are REALLY IMPORTANT in the long run, School boards and Judges seldom get more than a Happy Face Pix near Election Day. A case in point was a lady that looked good for our school board until while trying to find something on the radio heard her on one of our numerous Christian stations being given high marks by one of the Nat'l FUndie orgs. That took care of that.
Where I live the Libertarians are simply anti-war Republicans and Democrats are the sorts that anywhere else would be Socialist or Green. Any Moderate Demo gave up the area long ago so only the Far Left is left.... with all the, IMO Silliness. Only the truly Clueless would thiink that Dreadlocked Puppeteers and Drummers chanting anti-American slogans would bring Military families and those whose Livelihoods support two military bases to see things their way....
