mdehnersI Know I'm Anal-REtentive but it reaaallly annoys me when Writers don't do basic research on their subject.
Case In Point:
I'm reading a book from a fairly popular Sci-Fi/Fantasy author. It's set at the end of the last Ice Age, in the "Conan" type genre. Now, I don't mind the Iron-Age stuff that much because one ofthe main bits is that there was a more advanced civilization before...BUT. What's "ticking" me off is all the American crops these N Europeans are Growing and Using. Maize(corn) and Tobacco are the two most glaring. I'm waiting for our Heroe to set down to a nice Potato dinner....
