mdehnersSolstices seem perfect times for Review and Introspection. Summer Solstice, since I’m Botanically-Inclined and therefore tend to see things in Agricultural Metaphors, is a perfect time to look over what you’ve “Planted” and see how things have gone. The only place this has gone well this yr has been actual Agriculture;>. Everything else is either behind, “back-burnered” or aborted….
Much of that can be placed in two areas, the Gov’t(local, state and nat’l) and my Partner. With the former, the surpluses have been Wasted by both L and R-Winger projects. The latter due to his decreasing Mental status. Add to that my father’s further deterioration and…
Probably the most important lesson this yr has taught me is not to depend on others. Another is that those that you turn to for help have no Idea how to those that actually come to them as a last resort. Like many Heathens, we tend to try to “do it ourselves” and only ask when we’ve done everything we can Think of. Those that I’ve run into in the “Help” Industry are used to folks that run to them at the 1st sign of difficulties. Of course they’re Patronizing. I’d be too. The Problem is when they don’t know how to “deal” with those that basically have done what they usually do for their clients and have been Unsuccessful. Of course, by doing this they have Plenty of documentation that they need help and are just handed it. No “Hoops”. No Humiliation. Sadly, by being a Good Person, you are looked down upon. After all, the others are Druggies, Alkies, Abusers, Criminals. Of course they need help. There’s nothing Spiritually or Ethically Wrong with you so WHY ARE YOU HERE?!?!!? The only explanation is that you’re LAZY. That’s basically what Chuck got yesterday from the folks that we’re trying to get him help at least with his Storm Phobia and best with the Head Injury Problems. “Just try harder. You can do it!”. This on the same day that his ex(they were together 15 yrs) had open heart surgery to replace a valve. Bastard. Must not kill until all Usefulness has been wrung out of….
