mdehnersI’m tired of being a “bridge”. I used to think it was great that I got along with so many different folks and had views that allowed me to get along with them but always being the “Odd Man Out” is getting “Old” as I get older. I’ve noticed that a fair chunk of my Energy is always Involved with trying to get folks to see that the “Other” isn’t the _____ they think they are. Problem is, often those you Defend are too Arrogant to appreciate it. They’re Right, the Other is Wrong…Period. And I’m tired of often Feeling that I’m the only Adult on the Playground.
I’ve Decided not to make any major Life Change without much Thought and so I’m giving myself until July’s Full Moon to decide whether to “Walk Into The Woods” or not. I’d not be Leaving Heathenry, just Heathens. There’s a strong European Archetype of the old fart in the Woods that folks can visit if they Wish. Maybe that’s my Weird.
I’m tired of being too “Straight” for the Queers, too Gay for the Hets, too Rational for the Psychic, too “Woo-Woo” for the Rational, too Universalist for the Folkish, too Folkish for the Universalists, too Lore-bound for the Innovatist, too “Pagan” for the Lore-grounded, too Hierarchal for the Asatruar, too “American” for ASH, etc.
