Where the God/desses are(not?)

mdehnersOn one of my lists, a subject came up that could be basically stated as, “Are there places the God/desses won’t/can’t go?”. The answer, IMMHO is, it depends. There’s what I call, “Professional Courtesy”. That simply is that you don’t go onto Another’s “turf” without Their Invitation…not by one of your Followers….
Another is a place that is Spiritually and/or Physically “Unclean”. Sure, They could but WHY!?! I would never hold a Rite in a place I felt was “Unclean” of either type, though at least Physically can sometimes be taken care of….though no matter how “tidy” a landfill site or park over a waste storage depot, I still wouldn’t use it. On “lesser” Uncleanliness. I’ve NEVER Understood folks that will scrub their whole home down and dress their best for a Boss or Relative, yet hold Rites in a dirty space, unwashed and in dirty clothes….
On Spiritually Unclean spaces. I don’t. That said, I do consider it part of our Duty to “tidy up” as best we can, within our Abilities. The thing is, many folks can’t tell the difference between an Unclean Space and one that belongs to Someone Else and doesn’t appreciate “squatters” on their property. If you can’t, LEAVE IT BE!!!!!!
This segues into an area that some “Colonials” get confused with. Those Beings that are Geographically located, whether they be Native to the land they live in or are from their Ancestral Lands. I’ve been to Gatherings and moots here in the States where those that are have had Rites or portions of focused on them. I am Willing to Believe that They may hear but actually show up? Nope. If that were so, the historical record of them wouldn’t have so much pointing to folks going to see them at their Homes, not at the local temple/hof/etc. If those Beings are so Important to you….MOVE;>!
