Fluff Strikes Again!

mdehnersIt's been a Bloody Hot Summer, so we've Rented and seen more movies than we usually do. Here's a few....
Of those in theaters now, 'Hairspray' is definitely a must see. No substance, just a visual and aural piece of cheesecake;>. It's more like 'Little Shop of Horrors' style-wise(and Musically) than the original and unlike the original gets off subject and makes it about Integration instead of about how Outsiders in Society can be both Good and Creative. Otherwise, a lot of fun and I can't STAND Travolta...so it has to be good!
DVDs:
'Hot Fuzz' is a blast. If you liked their previous production, 'Shaun of the Dead' you'll ove this one. A cross between 'Miss Marple', Lethal Weapon' and 'The Vicar of Dibley'. Let's put it this way. I watched it twice before I returned it;>.....
'Reincarnation'. A J-horror flick that deals with the goings on of those around a film being made about a Mass Murder 4 decades previous. Very "Hitchcock" with a great ending twist. The core Ideas are that Unfinished Business will ALWAYS get "finished", reguardless the present Personality of the SOul....
'Pom Poko'. An Anime by the same folks that brought you 'Spirited Away'. A modern Japanese folktale about SHapeshifting animals dealing with modern Tokyo. Some bits will be esp funny to Western audiences since the male animals in question fight by using their huge genitals as weapons(the battle scene with the police requires no beverage intake for safety;>...
