I don’t think the consultant was too happy;>. In addition to the folks she expected for the “focus group”, she got me and Shirley. Both of us are long-term survivors, retired Professionals AND have been involved with committees and such for aids/hiv services since the late “80’s”. I think she was expecting to be able to do the usual “aura fluffing” so prevalent nowadays. Not solving anything but making folks “feel good” about having their complaints “heard”. Poor thing;>…..
Neither of us, when we talked afterwards expect much. We’ve both been through to much of this BS. The usual pitch for us both to volunteer came up and we both told them that we’ve done our part. Let someone else do some Work for a change, instead of profiting off OURS. Aids/hiv in the states is no longer a “Gay” disease. Time for the new demographic to do what we did……pick up the ball and play.
Troth,
Pat
