Be a "Pain"....
Sep. 1st, 2010 01:01 pmEven though I'm generally agin the modern "It's all about ME, FUK everyone else" ethos, ther's 1 area where you should...your HEalth.
About 5 yrs ago I noticed a scaly spot on my nose that would crack and bleed occassionally. My MD told me it was Excema and treat it with cortizone crm. It didn't work
After pretty much 5 yrs of carping, she took a biopsy. It came back negative. After it healed, the cracking and bleeding continued. About 9 months after that 1st biopsy, I badgered her into getting another. It came back "inconclusive". This time(perhaps so to shut me up) she sent me to a Dermatologist, who took yet another biopsy(remember, this is a nose. Not a small one I admit, but still;>). It came back not only Positive, but too advanced for him, so he sent me to a specialist.
Today I went in for OP surgery. They cut a bit out, tested, came back in and cut some more. They got it all.
There is a difference in being a hypochondriac and someone with an actual disease. For one thing, there are OBJECTIVE symptoms. Never let your MD blow those off. Esp. if they are too busy or because you don't have Republican-levwel corporate Insurance....
