Grumpy Old man Alert!
Aug. 13th, 2012 07:10 amA Conservative associate of mine(I don't consider him a friend anymore)was waxing poetic about Romney/Ryan. Being that he was dependant on SSI/Medicare, I asked him about Ryan's Plan. "Won't Affect Me", he stated.
He's quite true. Ryan's Plan won't affect anyone presently ON Medicare, just those that would be eligible in a future time. And he's right in that it would be cheaper if folks were going the Private Insurance route starting when they were young. Sadly, I REMEMBER what being young was like(as so many have forgotten). I consider myself ALWAYS a fairly cautious person but I didn't take advantage of the benefits of Insurance and Savings when I was in my 20's and even 30's....WTF is someone who isn't!?!
I see if Ryan's Plan comes to pass that a lot of folks aren't going to put that extra money in Savings and Insurance accts that would provide even what Medicare does(and as someone ON it,there's a shitload it DOESN'T)and when they need it, they'll be screaming at the Gov't to "DO SOMETHING"....
