mdehnersHad "fun" today dealing with the "joys" of Medicare. So...my MD ordered a routine Colonoscopy(for us old dudes, y'know;>).Last week I get a call telling me that Meicare hadn't covered all and I needed to (over the phone) immediately send them $50.00. Not horrible but pretty much meant no books or OTC Meds(including supplements) this month. Well, I call to confirm(because I'm Cynical about Human performance) and find out yes, my procedure is for tomorrow at 1000. However, I need to phone in $150.00 TODAY to cover what the procedure costs over what Medicare covers. Same Doc but two charges, one for him and one for the procedure. If I knew BEFORE, I'd have cancelled last week and saved myself $50.00. When I told them I had to cancel the procedure, they said they'd work on some payment plan.....
Needless to say, from now on I will NOT let my MD order ANY procedure that is NOT involved with aids or Comfort Measures. I've lived a full life an see no reason to make my last yrs "Top Ramen" Years....
