So, I'm reading the whining on one of my GLBT newsgroups about London's Pride day might be cancelled because of the "Lack Of Funds". Now, this isn't those for permits, security, etc. It's for all that other crap.
I remember my 1st GPD in 1980. I was in the Gay and Lesbian Student's Association group. We had helped those who'd planned it. Every group involved had put in the funds for all the civil "dues" and each group put together their own "thing". Us? What do you expect a bunch of college kids to put together? Yep, a paper banner painted with Tempora paint;>!
'Course, fo the modern generation of ANYTHING, that sort of thing wouldn't Interest them...unless we cold convince them that it's "Retro" and therefore "kewl";>
Cheers,
Pat

Which at present include:'Bill the Vampire', 'Scary Dead Things' and 'The Mourning Woods'(there's another book in the same Universe called 'Bigfoot Hunters' which OMO is the best of the author Rick Gualtieri's work so far...).
Bill is a dork. He gets picked up by a girl WAY out of his league and invited to a party where half of the guests are model-perfect...even the guys. He passes out and when he wakes up he finds out that he and the other Omega list guests have been Turned in a twisted Vampire version of "Simon Says". Each Vamp tells their "guest" what happened then tells them to kill themselves. Gotta obey your Master...right? Well Bill doesn't. He's something mythical in the Vamp community, someone Immune to mind control, even by a Master. And so Bill has to figure out how his skills at IT and Gaming can apply to being Undead. AND that all you get is Immortality and Superstrength(but not as strong as most other Vamps since you just get boosted from where you were in Life and...). He still needs his glasses, he still has zits and he's still "husky";>.....
A nice twist on the genre.
Cheers,
Pat
