Fading Away....

I noticed that there are fewer Landwights on the property in the last few yrs. A steady decline. I think it's because They KNOW that our time as Caretakers is ending and They see no reason to hang around a place that will be effectively sterilized once we're gone. I've noted spreading dead zones and even just spots that don't do well where once there was lush growth and wildlife.
That's Life in Modern America. Lush gardens are replaced by "low maintenance" plantings; basically slowly growing evergreen plants that don't bloom, fruit or seed.
Sad.....
