Fanboy Mode;>..........but in a Whimper.

One of the things I've found amusing is that a number of 'TWD' fans think The Fall" happened over a couple weeks at least.I didn't, but then again, I was a Nurse who before college worked as a Hot Shot Firefighter.
Rick was in a Coma and fed IV. As anyone with medical training knows, a HEALTHY person starts to die after a couple days...the ill FASTER. Also, the body of the nurse in the hallway hadn't begun to decompose markedly. The new series, 'FTWD' makes it very clear, it happens FAST.
In the "preqil" Tobias, the geek that noticed what was going on before anyone else in the series did stated that things would collapse fast; that things are so complicated that they need folks to constantly work to keep things running.
We had a touch of that this Fall with all the Rain the Deep South got. We didn't Flood or even have much Wind damage but we had no Communications(including Internet) for a couple days. All it took was some downed lines to the North(not even Power, CABLE) and with the majority here locally "Bundling" the only thing working was Cell and if Power had gone down that would as well.
I don't worry about Terrorism. Even in active countries the number of dead from them is STILL fewer than that of Auto accidents. I'm more worried that a weather event causes a cascade of shortages(Power, Food and Workers)for which brings the whole pile of straws DOWN.
Hopefully, it'll hold off till Chuck Passes. He couldn't Cope with a "Subsistence Lifestyle"....
