mdehners: (bear)
So, yesterday was clinic day. On the + side, there wasn't a long wait. On the -, med changes.
We're back on the sliding scale. My sugars started going back up earlier this month, which wasn't fair since we hadn't even gotten to post Halloween candy time;>! I'm afraid the same thing is happening with Insulin as did with Testosterone. My body'd break it down and we'd keep having to increase the dosage to keep my blood level's up.
Thanks to the Diabetes(caused by the aids meds BTW)I now have Diabetic Neuropathy in addition to hiv caused Neuropathy. While the Nurse in me is fascinated by the difference(different causes different sensory nerves, different sensations), the patient part is annoyed. We can't switch pain meds so we're dropping the Neurontin and switching to Lyrica. Also, while we're messing around, we're switching one of my aids meds to a close relation that is easier on the liver and kidneys.
Since both newbies are chemically close to the meds they're replacing there SHOULDN'T be any acclimating and HOPEFULLY no reactions.
Cheers,
Pat
