Stuff.....
Nov. 7th, 2016 09:17 amIt's been a weird couple of days. Chuck had a great B-day, though my SIL thoughtfully provided a sugar-free pie so I could have some(though the truth is I'll eat regular, just a small portion and cut Carbs for the rest of the day;>). Chuck won't eat anything diet so I did....and spent most of the night in the "Little Druid's Room". I remembered something my aids MD told us back in the pre-antiretroviral times about how sugar made Candida worse so we should switch to diet....except stuff sweetened with sorbitol. It acts, well, you can guess;>. The pie had both Sorbitol and Manatol.
Got a nice call from our local PBS station as well. I'd sent an email concerning Chuck and my fav Sunday AM routine, watching the recorded episode of 'Last of the Summer Wine' from Sat night. It wasn't scheduled and I wanted to know if it was temp or permanent. The nice lady stated that the last episode was shown and to repeat the series would cost too much for their local station. I would have been surprised just getting an email response but an actual person? Unfortunately, it's being replaced with one easily views on streaming services. It bugs me that you can't get good British TV material easily in the States. When we upgraded our cable we paid for BBC America, which is shite compared to what it was when we had it 16 yrs ago in San Francisco. It's all American TV with a splash of 'Dr Who'. Netflix and Hulu used to carry a decent amt but they've been replaced with Korean shows. NOT the same;>.
Cheers,
Pat
