You know no matter what the calendar says, when the day Temps are in the 80'sF, it's pretty much Summer;>!
The Cool season botanicals are collapsing in the Heat and Humidity. It's amazing what 20 mi East can mean. On Hummingbird I could Grow some Daffodils. Here, the best would be Poorly. Next yr I'll try a species that did gangbusters at the old house. Other than that, no more time and space wasted.
The various Morning Glories and their relations are doing quite well. I figure the 1st of them should start to bloom next month and the rest the following. So far I've been impressed with both Roses, a Tea and an English Rose. Those mini Roses you find in the market do really well here, though they're about x3 larger. No Scent but with my back I'm not bending that far down to sniff;>!
The 'Ugli' Mandarin has completely recovered from this Winter's Freezes but the Yuzu, which is supposed to be hardier hasn't. I have a feeling it's too Warm here for a Japanese citrus.
I have a new "mostly" outdoors Orchid; Thunia alba. It with the Sobralia alba join the Cymbidiums outside except for Frosts and Freezes. Both are new this yr so finger's Crossed!
Cheers,
Pat
