It's been a looooong couple of weeks both physically and emotionally. By Monday I'd thought that Chuck was on his way out. For the last week he'd eaten nothing and drank not much more. He was sleeping pretty much 24/7.
Then, at 2300 Monday I'm awakened by him asking me to help him get dressed! Since then he's been at his recent "normal"; eating some dinner, drinking a couple bottles of water daily and sleeping only half the day....
As I used to have to explain to families back when I worked Hospice, it's not unusual for the Terminal to rally off-n-on. It's NOT them being "Better". It's just a "breather". The end is still coming.
I'm really beginning to wonder if the PTB want him to Pass in a familiar place because we got more bad news about Tennessee. The contractor is down 3/4 men due to accident and COVID. Maybe Thanksgiving?
On a positive bit, when WHOEVER gets there it'll be great Animal Watching. This week my brother had to rehome 3 flying squirrels that had got into the house and "shoo!" a beaver that was hanging out in the little stream that separates the new home from our neighbors. All were quite cute;>!
I'm trying to keep some "Me!" time and reading up on the local Folk magic and medicine traditions. One thing that I found surprising (but maybe shouldn't have) was how much was based(the medicine, not the magic;>) on the old 4 Humours system. It reminds me a lot of Chinese Medicine with it's polarity-based diagnostics. Even learned why you "Feed a Cold and Starve a Fever);>!
Cheers,
Pat
