mdehnersEvery time I think I've worked through my "Issues" with Christianity, something comes up to get it all stirred up again....
I ran into one of theose "Ex-Gays" again. These folks upset me in exactly the same way that Battered Women do and for the same reasons. You're upset for the Abuse they've taken but can't Understand why they stay or keep going back for more of it. For the usual Ingoramouses that pipe up that they're nothing alike, they're partially correct. Battered Women don't go through "Reparative Therapy" where electrodes are attached to their genitals and shocked to either instill a fear of naked members of the same sex or simply to render the person a eunich...
My fav is the refrain the guy(21 yrs old)kept giving that he was different than all his Het friends in that he didn't want a committed monogamous relationship and needed further "treatment"PPPLLLLUUUUEEEEEAAASSSEEE!!! The last thing most 21 yr old Het guys want is a committed mOnogamous relationship!
