I Love Labels!

mdehnersI Love Labels. The last thing I want to experience is opening a can of green beans and finding out that it’s really spinach…the nastiest veggie in the world(not spinach. CANNED Spinach. I love frozen or fresh;>!). The rest of my life is no different….
I’ve tried to be as up front as possible in my life about who, what and how I am. Well, in the last 20 or so yrs;>. It prevents embarrassment of both sides, as well as wasted time. How much time do we waste on this planet avoiding who we really are or avoiding telling folks the real 411? Of who we already know we are, not some existential "knowing".....
Religion, Politics, Sexuality, World-views, etc. If you’re in the Minority, fight for your Dignity and Right to be What and Who you are but don’t expect others to do more than let you at the table. That’s what Toleration really means; “to tolerate”….nothing more. Once you’re at that table you have a number of choices. Be Yourself. Be Yourself the way your Mom wished you were;>. Don’t Interact. Act, but as they Wish you to be. These are all choices. Others will react accordingly. There is NEVER a single choice. Stop acting as if there WAS. Making folks Happy or Unhappy just for the sake of doing so is not productive IMO. “We’re just like you” is just as disingenuous as “You folk are such fucks”. Both are trying to manipulate the other(s). Neither are productive….
Be clearly yourself. Be CLEAR about it. If you use your own language, translate for the rest of us in parentheses;>. Remember as well that 100% of people have assholes. The percentage of those who ARE assholes, are not quite that high but the percentage is…..annoying.
