mdehnersI'm kind of glad for the cold snap because I need a couple of days to recover from finishing clearing brush and Pruning trees on the property. Some small stuff but nothing that would take much time. While Greenbrair are great for EOTWAWKI's with their high Vit C content tendrils, their phoneline strong, catclaw thorn armed Invasivieness isn't welcome. Come a "Porkiclypse", I'll nibble on some in someone elses yard;>....
I sad note is that one of the Antique Roses on the property is mostly dead. This Victorian lady had a trunk, not a stem. I'd never been able to get Cuttings from it to strike. I'll dig it up and see if there's any life left and if so, act accordingly.
Got the Tomatoes, CHilis and Eggplants started. With the Tomatoes it's necessary. In fact, it's kind of late. They don't like our warm nights and as soon as they start, they stop producing and often die off. Got to get them producing before then.
Going to have to change fertilizers. I'd been using Fish Meal but after a Nature show that pointed out that it was made from the prey species of fish I like to eat, I'd rather use Dollar store dry dogfood and rabbit food so I can eat Tuna, Mahi Mahi and Snapper!
On a "Woo-Woo" note, I've not noticed any Landwights in thebackyard so far this yr. I'm Hoping it's just a seasonal thing and not because the neighbor's ripped out their side of the hedgerow....
