Yesterday afternoon was VERY UNPLEASANT, so I put in a flick that always cheers me up...'Fido'. You'll probably have to dig or order it from a mail rental DVD company. This Canadian Black Comedy is original, funny and very twisted. Think 'Pleasantville' and 'Lassie'.....with ZOMBIES;>!
It's a Generation after the events in 'Night of the Living Dead' and the survivors live in bunkered towns emulating a period most Americans felt Safe, the Eisenhower Period. Thanks to an Invention which removes a Zombie's desire for Human FLesh, the corporation 'Zom-Con'runs everything that requires Unskilled Labour. Even the poorest Humans now can have "Help".
It's the story of a lonely boy named Timmy('natch;>)who treats Scottish Actor Billy Connolly's Zombie character as a pet. The usual 'Lassie', 'Leave it to Beaver' sort of things happen...with an occassional Death.
Sweet, Funny, Twisted....a winner
