That was moderately Unpleasant. Yesterday I was clearing out old wood on the Azaleas that had finished Blooming and felt a stabbing sensation in my R leg. I looked down and found that i had planted it right in a Fireant mound. It would have been less problematic later in the yr when all I'd have to do is kick off my fil-flops and hose them off. A bit difficult with jeans and sneaks. Besides, the neighbors really don't want to see my underwear;>!
The "adventure" continued later with Chuck wishing Shrimp for dinner and not wanting o wait the 5 min to steam and the 10 min to cool them down. Appareantly, the steamer in the seafood dept had recently been used to do a batch of Mussels....which I'm Allergic to. Luckly, it wasn't the most recent so it wasn't a bad episode, just a miserable one.
It wasn't wholely a bad day though. I potted up all of the Tomatoes so in a couple of weeks when I can plant them outside they'll be nearing flowering size. Also, I repotted the Palmarosa. If you don't know it, it's the source of about half of the natural "Rose" scent(the other half Rose Geranium, which I did have until this Winter it rotted in the greenhouse...). A relative of the ubiquitous SE ASian Lemongrass it's weedy blades have the scent of Damascus Roses. Repotting it is always a pleasant and pleascent job;>. This yr it's big enough(I'd been looking for it for decades and found a seed source last yr) to propagate and test for hardiness in the yard. If it's like it's relation Lemongrass, it'll do really well here. Considering a handsized clump from an Asian grocery 4 yrs ago is now 10 Pampasgrass-sized clumps....
Truth,
Pat
