One ofthe things you'll oft hear is that old Chestnut, "Enemy of my Enemy...". I'm not a subscriber to it. Just because someone's your Enemy that doesn't make them stupid. I remember that one of our HPS's in our coven back in t he early 80's was a big subscriber to that and, "We all need to work together in SOlidarity..." dreck. To me it was a riot of Stupidity. Here was a woman that wouldn't participate in a feast if there was "animal products" in anything, yet she was pushing for us to work with a group that a couple of times a yr Sacrificed Black Cats(thery were affiliated with the OTO...). Simply because they weren't Christian, they were "friends". WRONG!!!!!!!
What brought this up in my head was on a list I'm subbed to someone made a big deal for supporting the FLDS folks. I'm not a Universalist. I not only don't beleive that all religions are Equal, I BEleive that some are very Toxic. I also Know these folks. WHen I was a teen my family worked for the BLM in Predator Control. Dad flew the helicopters for the Hunters, Mom drove the Fueltruck and I pumped fuel(well until I got my Driver's Licence, then I took over both...). One Summer we were stationed outside of St GEorge, near the state border. My mother was treated very Badly by these folks and the next yr I took over for her. A Woman doing a "Man's Job" is a Whore, pure and Simple. I'm still surprised my Dad didn't shoot anyone that Summer.
I personally don't care what religion an adult is but when kids are involved? The poster asked about how this would affect Heathens. IME not at all. They took decades to do anything, even with victims going to govenors. I personally don't Know of any kindreds that systematically sexually and physically abuse their kids. If I did, I'd be one of the 1st to call CPS. I remember yrs ago back in my CR days at Starwood listening to parents "dicker" about getting their daughter "Initiated" by a big-name Pagan and after bringing it up my outrage being told by our Archdruid that "for a Gay you're awefully Prudish". So be it. Parents farming out their daughter's genitalia or wombs for religious "points" offends me, no matter what religion they are....
