Wind Damage...

One of my listmates was in one of the tornadoes that hit in the last couple of days. His family is fine and, with the exception of some minor damage, so is his home. I wish I'd known where he lived BEFORE so that I could have checked to see if they were OK. I do try to do that with folks on lists that I've been on for a couple of yrs. I know how good it felt when I got emails from folks who wanted to know if we were OK when all those hurricanes hit that yr. I've blanked out the two that actually hit us, basically calling all of them "Kat & Kompany". One of the reasons I try to find out where folks I listen to is because honestly I don't want them to feel as I did. Of all the folks I've Known over the last 29 yrs in "the alt-rel community" that I keep contact with AND know where I live, only a handful bothered. It was a "wake-up", I admit. It taught me a lot about phone and on-line relationships and how shallow they can be as well as how good some folks are. In fact, some of the folks I most disagreed with were among those that tried to get ahold of us. It taught me about who "family" really is. 'Course, some folks keep migrating;>
Remember, if there's folks that you enjoy reading, keep tabs on them in both Cyber and Midgard. They'll appreciate the thoughts....
