When is "Blue", Blue no longer?
May. 18th, 2008 07:46 amSounds silly, doesn't it but something similar happens all the time...even in historicially based religions. When does a definition no longer define something? Take the Subject line. Everyone "knows" what the colour Blue is. But what if folks took it upon themselves to describe the term "Blue" in a manner that no longer fits the original description? Is it still "Blue"? If "Blue" is being described as:
A Warm colour. Examples of "Blue" objects are Apples, Roses and Fresh Arterial Blood
Is it really "Blue"?
If you change the definition of a Word radically, does it Define the same Word? If I started to describe my Partner Chuck as my brother Chris,is Chuck Chris now?
Truth,
Pat
