Going Bananas!
Jul. 9th, 2008 01:51 pmIt's been a good day...yard-wise. Got back into the clearing of the brambles on the carport, which is a "Good Thing". The Namé (an actual Yam) started climbing off the fence and up the Brambles onto the roof of the carport. Really don't want to climb up there in the Fall to gather the following yr's starts! The Figs are doing well, though small this yr and I saw a couple Lemons, Limes and Guavas. This is esp good for the Guava since it gets it off "Death Row". 3rd yr:No fruit, no place in the coldframe for you;>!
I got my Bananas today. One cold-tolerant from an Ag station and one Ornamental with Yellow Blossoms and Purple Bracts. The Dessert "nanner" has striped leaves which I wasn't expecting, which makes it esp pretty. Nice Surprise!
Truth,
Pat
