Love those Viruses!

This AM I'm dealing with an attack. It's a sneaky one because it appears as a warning that your computer is Infected. How many folks don't pay attention to see if the logo of the pop-up is the same as your on-board AV?
It even says WIndows and has a cute little sheild.....
Oh, and in between this the browser keeps flipping between this evil company's site and a Het Porn.....

Oh damn that sounds bad. Can you cope, for example by using the "go back to a set point" thingie, or should I recommend you ask Noil for help?

I had one of those that kept obliterating the entire screen with this really awful porn stuff - not appealing at all. The ebil housemate told me to go ahead and format the HD . . . then admitted she didn't have the disks. Sigh. Then the friend who'd given it to me kept it for 2 or 3 weeks and returned it unable to access the net. So I've learned "Ask Noil."

WHen I can I'm going to get my brother over, since this is what he does for a living, exept for corporate systems. It's just annoying. They aren't viruses, they're warnings you HAVE a virus so to trick you into buying their softtware. If you're that Republican, you're not trustworthy enough for me...

The thing is, that + porn screens is the hallmark of at least one nefarious virus. Hope your brother can nuke it satisfactorily, whatever it is.
