Stuff-N-Such....

mdehnersOther than TANJ, things are quiet. We've simply decided to take our couple hundred monthly shopping to one of the Publix's nearer the college and Tourist areas...much less homophobic. And since it's the same company, it won't affect corporate's bottom line and since Chuck has Seniority.....
I'm semi-housesitting for the folks this week while they're off on one of their many org/company/ex reunions that pop up every yr. Dad's garden always amuses me and it's ALWYAS been that way, you can't blame the Alzheimer's. Planting out once instead of over a month so everything comes in at once, foods that are cheap and common in a grocery is what he plants, nothing expensive or rare(unless I give it to him). Right now there's shitloads of common carrots, zuchinni and green beans. They also have 3 of the same variety of:

Meyer Lemon
and 2 of:
Ponderosa Lemon
Doesn ANYONE ever use at home 4 trees worth;>? I have a Lluana(Pink-fleshed Lemon, makes Pink Lemonade) and a Meyer(a sweeter Lemon; a cross 1/4 Tangerine 3/4 Lemon) but neither of mine are big producers since I don't use Chemical fertilizers but since there are only two people in our house a couple total a week is mor than enough.
I'm "pysched" to be getting Yuca Cuttings from a listmate though. I think that'll be the limit to my "Manioc Adventure". The other kind is for Tapioca and if I want some I'll just buy some. Making it from scratch it a bitch, even with Russia helping along an EOTWAWKI....
