One of the members of our local hiv/aids support group had been touting this version of "MYSPACEBOOK" for + folks, so I checked it out. As someone whose "been around" sincethe early 80's dealing with this disease, I found a lot of it saddening...
One thing was the discrimination. It was pretty obvious that a fair number of Het Positives didn't like having to be around Homos and it wasn't just the guys. Their whole polls section is filled with 'People' style polls that declare "no men allowed"....polls on subjects most Het men I know have no Interest in(nor do I, I just thought it was Interesting). The guys aren't off the hook though. Many complained about aids/hiv being considered a "Gay Disease" and resent being treated like they were Gay. Not that treating Gays Poorly was wrong, just that they were being treated as if they were Gay.
Another thing was the lack of Spiritual groups, forums, etc. I guess since the Inhibitors there's less "pressure" to "deal" with one's impending Death. The only one that I could find was a blatent Prosletizing for a "Born Again" Christian group, using their usual, the parable of the Prodigal Son....the same one that started my doubting of Christianity in Sunday School(so, God considers those who did the Right Thing less than those who didn't and come back when they couldn't find any other way to live?). I started a group but there doesn't seem to be any Interest in things beyond WHining about how Unfair it was that THEY caught this disease and how hard it's going to make Dating(that's the Hets now...)...
Hoping but not Hopeful....

Pat
