The reason is quite simple....EXPERIENCES. I watched most of my sick friend's Partners being Abused by their Het parents. Guys who'd been together, sometimes longer than their parents being thrown out of their homes when one got sick and their names weren't on everything. Not being allowed to see them in the hospital, make decisions about their care, pre or post Death. And no, those legal documents don't always work. Actually, most can be overturned by a good family lawyer in most states. When you've watched a friend who was a Wiccan Priest be buried as a Mormon Elder as if the last 2 decades never happened or die because their JW family wouldn't OK treatments that would at least ease Suffering, you Learn not to Trust families....even those that are "Supporetive", because a shitload of those in my Experience can't rsist the chance to bring their baby back to Jesus.....
Luckly for me Chuck's Abusive Conservative family died a while back(Burned alive. Somehow Poetic for a pre Vatican 2 family that Abused him Physically, Mentally and Spiritually)....
And for us Endangering the Status of Marriage? Look to yourselves Breeders. We didn't create Drive-In Elvis Chapels and no-fault DIvorce. Considering it's cheaper in most states to get a Marriage license than a Fishing or Hunting...
