mdehnersThe Great Healer. And it's True. A post of Marion's got me Thinking(very dangerous...both me Thinking and Marion;>). The Black Community is basically two decades behind the Euro COmmunity Socially.I look back at when I was a teen and in college and Whites Acted and Beleived like Blacks do now. Sure, there were Evolved members, but the majority thought of us as either less than or even sub-human. Luckly for the GLBT community, the Black Community never gained the same level of societal Power that Euros had back tin the 70's and 80's. As history will Prove, they'll be along.
There IS, however goingto be a difference that only GLBT-folk will notice...Self-created Apartheid. You go into any GLBT community and you'll see that the Brown, Red and Yellow faces are pretty well mixed in with the White. They have been for quite a while. There are Black ones but they've broken their cultural Programming, allowing them to Judge others equal to themselves in Power and POWERLESSNESS. The majority of the non-Het Blacks use us like Larry Craig uses restrooms....as a convienience, not as persons.
The Future is Unformed but as it stands now, one group to "Pass" uses others as THINGS. It was Wrong (and is, for those fukwads who haven't gotten over their JCI programming and are using folks to PASS as Het)and IS WRONG. The difference is that the Users have a Beleif that since they had been Oppressed in the Past they can do WHATEVER without CONSEQUENCES. Obviously, they've never run into a Pissy Queen before. Klingons have nothing on some of them....
