It really doesn't surprise me about the response of both the Heathen and Pagan communities over the various anti-Gay ammendments since MArriage is so little respected in our communities. "What's the Biggie?" I keep hearing. Well, since you could if you wanted to but we can't....
'Course, both communities don't think much of it. Of my Married friends, they were from a previous religion. Most haven't even had their Blessed in their present religion, so when one of their Gay or Lesbian friends complain, they don't see "what's the Biggie". Of the Pagan and Heathen couples the vast majority are "shacked up", even when there are children involved. It's not all that unusual that the ceremonies that a particular Circle or Kindred has done are done at a higher rate for their Homosexual members than their numbers within would expect. And for the Hets? It's often a Rite which makes dissolving easier than changing phone service....
As "My Other Tribe" has been saying for DECADES, WE are not to Blame for the stus of Marriage in our Society(s). It's square in the hands of our Het population. For one thing, if we'd been Involved, the taste level of the Rites would have been higher;>....
