Recycle, save the Earth, etc, etc. The problem oft can be that fixing what you have comes close to getting it's replacement. Economics vs. Virtues, a problem old as Humans. I try to use what I have until it's long past it's "Sell By" date. Ask Chuck about my clothing:>. Still, I don't like to waste money, even for a "Good Cause". I'm Willingto spend a little more for my Ethics but being on the bottom of the USA Social Ladder means there isn't alot of disgressionary spending available. For instance,I buy regular Produce instead of Organic because where I live it's generally half-again the cost. Richers,(to use the 'South Park' term) can afford to, Poor folks generally CAN'T.
You do what you can, but Reality WINS.
