mdehnersSomething I've found fascinating over the yrs is the difference in Conviction in religious folk from the Past to Today. Mind you, I prefer the gutless and Spinelessness of the modern "Soldier of Christ";>, but it's got to Piss off a lot of Dead Guys to see their Descendant's Convictions crumble under the slightest chance of discomfort. Can't blame them, it's our culture. Look to ourselves. You read of those Heathens Honor monthly for their Sacrifices, yet we hear our co-religionists complain of "Religious Persecution" for the most minor and, in Honesty often untruthful reasons. There is NOTHING that requires a Heathen to hold to 1000ce health, hygene or fashion. That's a personal preference, not a requirement. Also, when I listen to those who don't stand up for their Beleifs because someone might think differently of them, I feel sad. Those who Died for their Faith must look at those who Hide theirs because someone might think them "wierd", "different" or might interfere with my career with much dissapointed.
Of course, I'm different. I'm constitutionally unable to shut up:>. So while I've never made a big deal of my religion OR my orientation, I don't lie either and really don't Understand folks that do that don't have a real reason. Now, there are jobs where being a "non-standard" orientation or religion is a problem but most aren't. To me, WHO you are is, well WHO you are. It's pretty much the most IMPORTANT thing in your Life. To deny it when the punishment isn't great physical harm, loss of ANY chance of future employment and/or Life tells me that you're a pretty small person in the grande sceme of things. 'COurse, the REgin are more Loving and Caring than myself. I'm sure that when you Deny Thier Existance because "Tiffany" might think you're weird makes Them Pround you found your way "Home"...
