"Flaunting" It....
Feb. 12th, 2009 06:13 amA comment on one of my lists amused me and reminded me of something that happened a couple months ago. Chuck's boss got a complaint from someone about him "flaunting his Sexuality" and disciplined him for it. Being my wonderful husband, he demanded WHAT was the "Flaunting". His super couldn't answer because he hadn't GOT the reason, he just took the complaint and accepted it. He dropped it. A week later we found out what it was. We were shopping together for groceries and I called him "hun"....
Sadly, if you ask most GLBT folk what activities they get accused of "Flaunting", it's the sort of thing that Het couples do every day. It was the way I got a coworker to get a "Clue" when she made the usual, "Why do you..." comment. I pointed out that she every day hugged and kissed her husband goodbye at the bus stop on her way to work. I pointed out that she would consider me simply Hugging mine "Flaunting my Sexuality", though she herself had been much more Intimate and Physical. She aggreed with me. She never changed her mind about how Evil we were(being a Good Catholic)but was less "Huffy" about some stuff....
Truth,
Pat
