Spring Fever...
Feb. 12th, 2009 02:05 pmI Know, I Know. But this warm spell has me fardling around the property, digging and pruning. Got some of the feral Wisteria, Oak and other woody crap out. The Malanga patch(a subtropical "potato" that handles our Summers and Soil better than regular Potatoes) was dug, manured and the plants divided, increasing the EOTWAWKI Patch by 3. Tomatoes are now up to gallon pots in the greenhouse and the other SOlonacae(Peppers and eggplants) have been started. My Lotus pot is just waiting on the USPS to deliver my Fragrant and Delicious waterveggie.
Still have some work Weeding and thinning the Beets as well as Planting out the Bananas and Oranges in a couple weeks....weather permitting. The Woodpeckers are out which means the bugs are starting to hatch under the bark of trees....a definite sign of Spring in a few Weeks
Cheers,
Pat
“Is there any particular reason you asked the 3 thousand yr old, reanimated Egyptian mummy that’s been sucking out your life-force if there was anything we could get her while we’re at the mall?”-Austin, “Long Hot Summoning”
