mdehnersThere's been much said about Jon Stweart's calling out of CNBC and other Financial talking heads, but it's not just them. A lot of Western Culture is oriented around Winning. Not Justice, not doing a Good Job, not making things Better....just WINNING.
It's the reason why though I have great respect for Cops and Corrections Officers I have little for Lawyers. It's not about Justice, it's about Winning and even if your client Raped and killed 6 kids and a litter of Puppies? Oh well.
The FInancial problems are pretty simple. Folks used resources they didn't have Beleiving that magickal Money Fairies would take care of things. To me there was no difference between these eejits in Business and newagers burning Incense and Chanting for Prosperity without even going out and attempting to get a job. Magical Thinking....
Now, I'm a Beleiver in Magic, "C" or "K";>. Thing is, I Beleive it follows the same Laws of Nature as everything else....the only thing that comes from NOTHING is NOTHING. Maybe the Gods can Create things out of Nothing(and I'm of two minds about that;>)but Humans can only shift stuff around. Unfortunately, in America we've had a few decades of Beleif-systems that truly Beleive in "Free Lunches" and have built a culture that runs on what basically is a Mental Delusion....that everyone can be "The King".
Luckly, I'll be dead before things get really ugly....if things continue as they probably will. At least I don't have kids. Those that do? Teach'm how to trap Pidgeons and rodents so when they have children they'll be able to feed them...
